The Swedish startup Flow combines brain stimulation and behavioral therapy to treat clinical depression.
Founded by the clinical psychologist Daniel Månsson and the neuroscientist Erik Rehn, Flow is medically certified for use at home and provides a non-pharmaceutical alternative for people suffering from depression.
The company received a $1.5 million investment from California-based Khosla Ventures in 2019.
Flow s headset device delivers a constant, low direct current to stimulate neurons in the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex.
It s paired with the Flow app, which guides users through exercises informed by behavioral therapy. The company said 81% of users have reported feeling relief from symptoms after three weeks.

Taastrup, Denmark Danish 3D printed tooling equipment maker AddiFab raised $6.3 million to expand physically and geographically with a goal of tripling the number of systems it produces and increasing customer evaluation projects.
Private equity firm West Hill Capital led the investment round for the company, which introduced a manufacturing technique called Freeform Injection Molding (FIM) about two years ago.
In the last 18 months, FIM has been used to develop products for medical devices, personal protective equipment, automotive, packaging, consumer electronics, personalized prostheses and utility infrastructure.
