While jobs and careers in the age of the COVID-19 pandemic are uncertain, Danielle Torres has had no problem getting her own career off the ground. Upon completion of the Western Maricopa Education Center (West-MEC) Medical Assisting Program at the Surprise, Arizona, Northwest Campus in 2020, she went on to earn certifications as a certified clinical medical assistant and certified phlebotomy technician right out of high school.
With four campuses throughout the North and West Valley and more than 37,000 students from 48 high schools in the Phoenix Metropolitan area, West-MEC offers an assortment of funded programs designed for students that are looking for career education opportunities after high school graduation. West-MEC students have the opportunity to earn industry-recognized
