CHICAGO - A person was killed and eight others wounded in shootings Thursday across Chicago.
A 30-year-old man was fatally shot early Thursday in a drive-by at a gas station in the West Garfield Park neighborhood.
He was identified as David Walker of West Englewood by the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

A 30-year-old man was fatally shot early Thursday in a drive-by at a gas station in the West Garfield Park neighborhood.
He was identified as David Walker of West Englewood by the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Someone fired shots from a passing vehicle at the man about 2:15 a.m. as he sat in a parked car at a gas station in the first block of North Kilbourn Avenue, Chicago police said.
Walker was struck in the head and back, and pronounced dead at the scene, police and the medical examiner’s office said.

Police are alerting Edgewater residents after two gunmen robbed four separate victims Saturday evening in the North Side neighborhood.
Within 70 minutes, the suspects exited an SUV and came up to each victim with a handgun, Chicago police said.
They demanded each victim’s belongings and took their cellphone and cash, police said. Before leaving, the suspects allegedly instructed each victim to unlock the phone and turn off its tracking feature.
The robberies happened on Dec. 12:
about 7:09 p.m. in the 5800 block of North Paulina Street;
about 7:33 p.m. in the 1700 block of West Peterson Avenue;
about 7:45 p.m. in the 5600 block of North Glenwood Avenue; and
4 robbed in one evening in Edgewater

CHICAGO - Four people were robbed in just over an hour Saturday in Edgewater on the North Side.
In each incident, two males approached victims as they walked, showed a handgun and demanded they give them their cellphones and wallets, police said. The males asked the victims to unlock their phones and disable the location before fleeing in a white SUV.
The robberies between 7:10 p.m. and 8:20 p.m. in:
The 5800 block of North Paulina Street;
1700 block of West Peterson Avenue;
5600 block of North Glenwood Avenue; and
1600 block of West Edgewater Avenue.
