ELKINS The Highland Parish United Methodist Church is sponsoring a spring concert Saturday at The Rotary Amphitheater in Elkins Town Square.
The concert will feature the gospel Christian group Westward Road, now touring in support of their new album “Love Has Won.” They’re currently contesting for Top 10 New Band of the Year honors.
“What a nice way to get mom out after taking her out to dinner for Mother’s Day weekend,” said Paul Thompson, who is a pastor at three different Methodist churches in Randolph County. “It looks like the weather is going to be good so it should be a really nice evening to get out and listen to some great music.”
A man from Ebley ignored a notice to reduce the noise he was making A 42-year-old Stroud man has been fined £3,500 for gaming and playing music too loudly at his home in Ebley. Gregg Wootten of Westward Road, Ebley, failed to reduce the noise he was making after receiving a notice from police on March 27, 2020. At Cheltenham Magistrates Court on March 24. 2021, Wootten was found guilty and ordered to pay another £2,000 in costs and his speaker system was seized. This includes two Avant Speakers, an Atlantic subwoofer and a Denon surround receiver. Including a surcharge to fund victim’s services, Wootten must pay £5,735 by April 21.
