December 11, 2020 our forever loved and heroic Kailey Paige Almeter took her last breath here on Earth and entered into the gates of Heaven into the gentle arms of Jesus at the young age of 7. Kailey was born on July 28, 2013, to parents Joseph and Amber Almeter of Godfrey, Illinois.
Kailey loved listening to audio books, telling stories, and listening to Tom Petty, the Beatles, and country music. Her favorite place to be was at home in her room playing with her rock collection, makeup, and jewelry. You would always find her well accessorized with many bracelets and necklaces. Her favorite thing to say was “oh my gosh.” With limited vision, Kailey’s imagination and love for people really took over. She was able to capture the heart of a stranger and make friends wherever she went. She was a student at West Elementary in Jerseyville, Illinois where she worked hard every day to learn braille and enjoyed chit chatting with faculty and staff.
