Fly-tipping in Castle Lake Car Park, Haverfordwest

Rubbish has been dumped next to bins at Castle Lake Car Park. The images show plastic bags of refuse torn open with jars, food waste, cans and cardboard spilling out in a soggy, stinking mess. The bins have only recently been installed and are made available to businesses on Castle Square. Cllr Tom Tudor came across the mess and took photos. He said he couldn t believe what people had done and appealed for information. Cllr Tudor wrote: Unbelievable, people have been fly-tipping rubbish bags in the new bin storage area in Castle Lake Car park for the businesses on Castle Square.

Senedd seat suspense mounts at Preseli Pembrokeshire and Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire counts

SENEDD election candidates and their agents have been arriving at Pembrokeshire s two counting venues this morning. They face a wait of several hours for the results of yesterday s poll, which should be due by early evening. Normally the counts for the Preseli Pembrokeshire seat and the Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire seat would take place in the same building. But Covid restrictions have resulted in the necessity to use separate venues, as well as not holding the counts overnight. Ballot boxes were taken to the showground after the 10pm closure of the 74 polling stations in Preseli Pembrokeshire and the 72 in Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire.

A Granddad has lost what is described as his life savings at a Lidl in Haverfordwest An 83-year-old man has lost his life-savings after misplacing them in the toilets at Lidl, in Haverfordwest. Glyn Rene Davies lost what was described as his ‘life savings’ when he took off his bumbag in the toilets in Lidl in Haverfordwest and left it there. Glyn, from Fishguard, is said to have lost quite a substantial amount of money in what was his pension he draws from the bank. He misplaced the bumbag of money at around midday yesterday (May 6).
