Tregendeg Farm and Cilfoden Farm apply to make yard changes

TWO PEMBROKESHIRE farmers are applying to Pembrokeshire County Council to alter and improve facilities at their farms. John Bevan at Tregendeg Farm has applied to the council for permission to cover an existing open cattle yard (planning reference number20/1069/PA). Tregendeg Farm is a dairy farm located near the village of Clynderwen with a herd of 250 dairy cows all housed internally in cubicles and a small number of calves which are loose housed. A report submitted to council planners states that the is looking at improving the infrastructure at the farm to help increase available slurry storage and also to increase available covered feed yard.

Pembrokeshire County Council proposes traffic calming at South Road, Pembroke

PEMBROKESHIRE County Council is planning to introduce traffic calming measures at South Road, Pembroke. The measures include raised crossing points which will also act as road humps. The proposed measures will be introduced 106 metres west of the South Road, Jogram Avenue junction. The raised crossing table will be the full width of the carriageway, 4 metres 80 centimetres and will be raised to a height of 6.5 cms. The second measure will be 93 metres west of the junction with Jogram Avenue. Where a traffic priority system will be introduced, giving priority to traffic in the Eastbound lane. The measures come under powers conferred by Section 90A and 90C of the Highways Act 1980 and the Highways (Road Humps) Regulations 1999.

Crossways Service Station, Neyland applies to sell alcohol 24/7

CROSSWAYS Service Station, at Haven Bridge Road, Neyland, has applied to Pembrokeshire County Council to stay open 24 hours a day from Monday to Sunday and to sell alcohol during these times. The service station has also applies to sell late night refreshments from 11pm until 5am from Monday to Sunday and to change its floorplan. Between the hours of 11pm and 5am customers will not enter the shop and all transactions will take place via the night pay window. The premises is a well-established forecourt business owned by the applicant, Ascona Group Ltd, which owns around 50 sites nationally. The application states that the convenience store where alcohol is sold sells all types of products such as household goods, toiletries, fresh and frozen foods and that alcohol is only part of the complete offering to customers and is not the focus of the business.
