Two pickup trucks collided head-on Thursday afternoon on West Delmar Avenue and Emma Lane. The crash took place just before 12:30pm Thursday, as a storm system was pushing through the area. The weather hampered the response of a medical helicopter, forcing the two injured drivers to be taken away by ambulance.
Godfrey firefighters and the Madison County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene and the driver of one of the vehicles had to be cut from the truck. That driver was reported to be more seriously injured than the other, although both were taken to area hospitals for treatment. The names of those involved have not been released and the crash remains under investigation.
