Upgradation of roads to cost ₹300 crore, the biggest component of ₹1,000 crore allotted to the agency
Cochin Smart Mission Limited (CSML) has set December as the revised deadline to complete its pending projects in the city and West Kochi, except the ₹100-crore project to reconstruct the Ernakulam Market. Of them, resurfacing of roads and corridors that are being upgraded as smart roads will be completed by May-end, before the monsoon begins, the agency’s Chief Executive Officer Jafar Malik said.

The Kochi Corporation will set up a round-the-clock control room and help desk to address requests for medicines and transport of COVID patients. A mobile unit will begin functioning for emergencies, and this unit will be equipped with a nurse, medicines, and oxygen supply, Mayor M. Anilkumar said.
Keeping up with the times, and in what is a first for the civic administration, the corporation council had an online meeting via videoconferencing to discuss the COVID-19 situation.

Residents experiencing water shortage even after construction of new tank and repair of old tank, says petitioner The Kerala Water Authority (KWA) has informed the High Court that necessary measures, including increasing the number of pumping stations, had been taken for improving water supply to the West Kochi area.
