Millcreek asks public to help secure state grant for West Eighth St

Staff report Millcreek Township supervisors are asking the public to support its request for $6.2 million from the state s Redevelopment Assistance Program to improve West Eighth Street from Pittsburgh Avenue to Peninsula Drive. The township plans to relocate power lines and install sidewalks, street trees, decorative light poles and other amenities to create a “main street” feel in the Presque Isle gateway district. West Eighth Street in the city of Erie is already being improved. The state is accepting written public comments on the township grant application until May 12 via email at RA-OB-PublicComment@pa.gov or by mail to: RACP Public Comment Period, Office of the Budget Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, 333 Market Street Tower, 18th Floor, Harrisburg, PA 17101-2210.
