Zak Kirkup in jeopardy of losing seat13/03/2021|3min
WA Opposition Leader Zak Kirkup is in real jeopardy of losing his own seat of Dawesville, holding a majority of just 0.8 per cent as polls open on election day.
An election-eve Newspoll showed Mr Kirkup s disapproval rating had increased from 41 per cent to 49 per cent following his early concession he would not win this state election.
Meanwhile, Premier Mark McGowan enjoyed a 10.5 point swing in the two-party preferred poll, placing Labor ahead of the Liberals - 66 per cent to 34 per cent.
The West Australian Liberal Party also faces the possibility of losing its status as the opposition and major party with polling suggesting they could hold just three seats following this election.
The WA election has left the Liberals decimated and in the wilderness, facing a long road back
