Deandre S. Brewster, 23, of Alton, was charged April 7 with threatening a public official, a Class 3 felony. The case is being presented by the Alton Police Department. According to court documents, on April 3 Brewster allegedly indirectly threatened two Alton police officers. The threat was described as something that would “place them in apprehension of immediate or future bodily harm. Bail was set at $50,000. On March 12 Brewster was charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance while located within 500 feet of public housing, a Class 1 felony. He allegedly delivered cocaine to a confidential informant at Alton Acres, a public housing facility.

LaShelvy D. White, 18, of Wood River, was charged March 15 with two counts of aggravated battery, one a Class 2 felony and the other a Class 3 felony. The case was presented by the Wood River Police Department. According to court documents, on Nov. 17 White allegedly struck an East Alton High School teacher in the chest, and kneed a Wood River police officer in the groin.

Joseph A. Cook, 39, and Crystal L. Hunt, 34, were charged Feb. 24 with the Class 2 felony of unlawful possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine. The cases were presented by the Madison County Sheriff’s Department, and were the result of “proactive police work on a traffic stop,” according to Capt. David Vucich, chief of investigations for the sheriff’s department. According to court documents, on July 31 the two were found to be in possession of less than five grams of methamphetamine with intent to deliver.

Thompson, 62, was charged Feb. 18 with aggravated driving while under the influence, a Class 2 felony. The case was presented by the Edwardsville Police Department. On Feb. 13 Thompson allegedly was found to be driving a 2002 Dodge Dakota while under the influence of alcohol. It was noted that he had prior convictions for similar crimes in 2009 and 2014. Bail was set at $30,000. Drug-related felony charges filed Feb. 18 by the Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office include: • Christina E. Beegle, 50, of Staunton, was charged with unlawful possession of methamphetamine, a Class 3 felony. The case was presented by the East Alton Police Department. On July 18 Beegle allegedly was found to be in possession of less than five grams of methamphetamine. Bail was set at $15,000
