OK2SAY allows students to submit confidential tips to prevent harm before it occurs.
In 2020, the program reported 896 suicide threats, 456 drug tips, and 436 various other tips that include harassment and depression.
But while OK2SAY a Michigan program, it has no borders and can even help people around the world.
“We get the information and we find out the student is from England, for example. Well we’ll involve Interpol and we’ll pass on that information,” said Mary Drew of the MSP Grants and Community Services Division. “So really, I always think of OK2SAY as a worldwide force of good.”
Reality Check, a non-profit organization based in Jaffrey focused on addiction recovery, recently received a $30,000 grant from the N.H. Charitable Foundation. The grant will help further Reality Checkâs mission to reduce drug and alcohol use, addiction and overdose, and the related social and economic costs to individuals, families and businesses.
The organization accomplishes its mission by providing addiction prevention, treatment, recovery and education services as well as customized services to New Hampshire employers.
