Laughing Liberally Milwaukee had been tweaking reactionaries and making sport of right-wing nitwits in comedy clubs for several years before going virtual (and adding a
Shepherd Express podcast) during the pandemic. They recently mounted a virtual variety program to mark the demise of Trump called the âDelouse the White House Inauguration Show.â They are returning with another virtual show, the âPan-niverary Extravaganza,â to coincide with the anniversary of COVIDâs arrival in Wisconsin.
The lineup for âPan-niversaryâ will include standup comedy from Chastity Washington, Shawn Vasquez, Dana Ehrmann and the Accountants of Homeland Security plus an activist interview with Santera Michaels from Black and Pink Milwaukee, an organization supporting LGBTQ incarcerated people in Wisconsin.

On Jan. 19, the Milwaukee Common Council decided to ignore organizers’ demands by re-voting on and ultimately accepting the $9.7 million Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) grant, which will hire 30 additional Milwaukee Police Department officers over three years. The grant was originally rejected last month, but after Alderwoman Nikiya Dodd motioned to reconsider it with added amendments, it was approved nine to six.
“I’m not surprised but I’m angry and frustrated,” said Hayden Harwood of Party for Socialism and Liberation Milwaukee. “If that money is used to hire more police, it means the Common Council will have to allocate more money towards MPD for the following years that those officers stay on. They pay for their salaries every year, for the damages they’ll eventually cause, and for their pensions. That $9.7 million wasn’t free. It was collected from the people and it will cost Milwaukee much more in the long run.”
PRESCOTT, Ariz. (AP) The manager of a gas station near downtown Prescott was fired for posting signs this week outside the business that made a baseless sexual derogatory claim about President Joe Biden and were racially offensive.
Joanne Selena Lopez said she was terminated as manager of the Shepherd Express gas station after the signs went viral on social media.

She said she considered her sign saying “March is white pride month y’all” to be a joke.
Lopez said she was proud of posting the signs and wouldn’t bow down to pressure. Lopez said she had planned to buy the business but the owner backed out.

Gas station manager fired after displaying controversial signs

PRESCOTT, Arizona (KPHO/KTVK) The manager of a gas station in Prescott was fired 24 hours after photos of controversial signs displayed in front of the store went viral. Two signs were posted in front of the gas station, Shepherd Express, near downtown Prescott.
One sign said, “We now have a pedo rapist for president,” and the other said, “March is white pride month y’all.”
“Disgust, anger, really I think I was just trying to process that could be here,” said Cindy Tobin, who has lived in Prescott for 30 years.
