Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Sunday ordered an inquiry into an incident at the Hindu Rao Hospital where it is alleged that 23 COVID-19 patients have gone “missing”.
The government sources said Mr. Sisodia has asked the Health Department to conduct an inquiry into the matter and submit a report by Monday evening as the incident was not only dangerous to the lives of these patients but is also a set back to the efforts of the government, which has imposed a lockdown to check the spread of the disease. The North body Mayor Jai Prakash had on Saturday said at least 23 COVID-19 patients left the hospital between April 19 and May 6 without informing the medical facility.

North civic body Mayor Jai Prakash on Tuesday alleged that the Delhi government is not providing “correct figures” of COVID deaths in the Capital and and the bodies of such patients were being cremated almost around the clock at crematoria and burial grounds over the last week.
The city’s civic bodies compile records related to last rites till 6 pm on a daily basis but if this format was changed to include cremations and burials till midnight, he alleged, the daily figures would be “substantially higher.”

New Delhi, Jan 12: North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) Mayor Jai Prakash has said that ward public health inspectors will visit restaurants and request them not to sell roasted chicken amid bird flu scare.
Representational Image We will form monitoring committees in all six zones in North Delhi and also set up monitoring committees in livestock markets, he said at a meeting with senior officers of NDMC.
Mayor further said that We are going to instruct ward public health inspectors to visit restaurants selling roasted chicken and request them not to sell it until the problem of bird flu is over in Delhi.
