Espanola’s Chief Administrative Officer and Treasurer, Cynthia Townsend is leaving her position.
Espanola Mayor Jill Beer says Townsend will be leaving on March 19th.
Beer says Townsend has made a significant contribution and impact as the town’s CAO over the past 10 years including outstanding leadership and vision through some difficult and challenging times.
Beer adds recruitment is now underway to fill the vacancy to lead the community through its next phase of growth.
Townsend took the town through several projects during her 10-year tenure including upgrades to the water system, improvements to Highway Six, sewer/water and road replacement throughout parts of the town and keeping the budgets well within two percentage points on average per year.
