Grey County council has voted unanimously to write a letter of support to medical officer of health Dr. Ian Arra and his Grey Bruce Health Unit team for their work during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The motion, introduced Thursday by Southgate Deputy-mayor Brian Milne during a virtual meeting, was in response to controversy surrounding Arra’s $631,000 pay for 2020, which was 64 per cent more than he received in 2019 due to pandemic-related overtime and made him the highest paid medical officer of health in Ontario.
