Storms may be severe Thursday Rain stays in forecast through Memorial Day Meteorologists are keeping a close eye on Thursday for the possibility of severe storms. As of Tuesday, the Storm Prediction Center had placed Wichita Falls and a portion of North Texas at Slight Risk for severe weather. Of greater concern was an area just to the north of the city that extends from Lawton into Missouri. That area is at Enhanced Risk for thunderstorms and possible tornadoes. Wichita Falls picked up another 0.39 inch of rain Monday and overnight into Tuesday morning.
