Man leads sheriff s deputy on pursuit

By Christopher Harris Commonwealth Journal Mar 4, 2021 Johnny Dylan Turner A Hazard man was recently arrested by the Pulaski County Sheriff s Office after leading authorities on a pursuit, first on the the road then on foot. Johnny Dylan Turner, 21, was taken into custody and lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center following the incident, which took place at around 6:45 p.m. last Saturday, February 27.  According to the sheriff s office, Deputy Trent Massey saw a black 2014 Hyundai being driven erratically on Jarvis Avenue. Massey stopped the car at Jarvis Avenue and Maplewood Drive, and as he got out of the car to contact the driver, the vehicle drove away.

cschuldt@nujournal.com NEW ULM The New Ulm City Council approved moving forward with a fixed-route bus service for Brown County. The city is looking at a fixed-route bus service for residents, employees, visitors and students. The city has partnered with Brown County Heartland Express, the transit service provider that operates demand-response service within New Ulm and all of Brown County. The fixed-route bus service would run on a set schedule with stops located at major local destinations along a set route through the community. City Manager Chris Dalton said this was not about approving the specific bus route, but to approve moving forward with it to let Brown County present it to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

Pennsylvania State Senate Approves Of New Bill On Limiting Disaster Declarations (Harrisburg, PA)   A proposed constitutional amendment is earning another victory after it was approved by the Pennsylvania State Senate. The state Senate voted in favor of Senate Bill Two yesterday 28-to-20. The proposed bill would limit the amount of time future disaster declarations have as well as needing the general assembly s approval to go into effect. Emergency declarations called for by the Governor currently last up to 90 days, while the new bill would limit it to about 21 days. The bill must be approved by the general assembly in two sessions before it can move onto the ballot for residents to vote on.
