A decision could come as early as next Thursday about the proposed expansion of Ben’s Maple Products LLC in Temple. The Temple ZBA scheduled a meeting for April 29 to hear additional testimony from a second traffic expert after a discussion during their meeting on Tuesday evening.
Ben’s Maple Products LLC initially proposed a 16,080-square-foot building proposed for the corner of Route 101 and Webster Highway last September. The Board opted to hire their own real estate and traffic consultant after deeming the applicant’s expert testimony insufficient in early March.
The Board had been skeptical of the applicant’s traffic expert’s estimate that the store would attract a maximum of six vehicles per hour in the morning, but the second consultant’s review as presented last night didn’t reexamine that rate, ZBA Chair John Kieley said.
