7-year-old boy shot in back, 2 adults wounded in Syracuse

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) A 7-year-old boy was shot in the back and two adults were injured in a shooting in Syracuse, police said.
The three victims were shot at 10 p.m. Monday on South Salina Street, Sgt. Matthew Malinowski told the Post-Standard of Syracuse.
The 7-year-old was critically injured by a gunshot in the back, a 42-year-old man was shot in the buttocks and shoulder and a 33-year-old woman was grazed by either a bullet or shattered glass, Malinowski said.
When officers arrived at the shooting scene they learned that the victims had left for Upstate University Hospital in a private car, police said.

Woman, child hit by car near Clinton Square in downtown Syracuse

A woman and child were hit by a car Wednesday on South Salina Street, though neither were seriously injured, police said.

The crash happened at 1:37 p.m. near Clinton Square, according to Onondaga County 911 dispatch logs.
One witness heard a woman scream shortly before hearing a loud thud.
Construction workers with C.P. Ward working nearby rushed over to help the woman and child lying near each other in the street. A stroller was nearby.
Several other people gathered in the street, stopping traffic and calling for help.
