Love, jealousy and magic will be on stage during Palm Beach Opera’s first opera festival.
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the company moved its 2021 season from the Kravis Center to the iTHINK Financial Amphitheatre at the South Florida Fairgrounds in West Palm Beach to better allow for social distancing.
The company will perform Giacomo Puccini s La Boheme on Friday and Wednesday, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart s The Magic Flute on Sunday and Feb. 26, and Ruggero Leoncavallo s Pagliacci on Tuesday and Feb. 27.
The Palm Beach Opera managed to book some of the major operatic artists from the Metropolitan Opera, the San Francisco Opera, the Lyric Opera of Chicago and other opera houses around the world. Among the stars headlining the performances, are Isabel Leonard, Ana María Martínez, Janai Brugger, Michael Fabiano and Matthew Polenzani.
1 pm ET: Wiener Staatsoper presents
Giselle. Conductor: Valery Ovsyanikov, choreography: Elena Tschernischova after Jean Coralli, Jules Perrot and Marius Petipa.
