What Is God Like? , a Children s Book Co-Authored by Rachel Held Evans, Will Be Released

March 11, 2021 On Wednesday, Penguin Random House announced that Rachel Held Evans had begun work on a children’s book that would answer the sort of questions kids have about God. Evans tragically passed in 2019, before she was able to finish the book, but her early drafts were carried to completion by her friend and fellow writer Matthew Paul Turner. Illustrations were added by UK-based artist Ying Hui Tan and now, What Is God Like? is available for pre-order. The announcement was made via a short Zoom chat with some of Evans’ friends like Jeff Chu, Sarah Bessey, Austin Channing Brown, Jen Hatmaker and Nadia Bolz-Weber. It is, as you might expect, awfully emotional.

Reading Magistrates Court: Thatcham man admits assault and knife charges Pre-sentence reports ordered In the dock at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, February 23, was Matthew Paul Hawkins. The 33-year-old, of The Turnery in Thatcham, admitted assaulting Jakob Jozwiakoski by beating him. He further admitted assaulting a police officer, Alisdair Ferrie, by beating him while he was exercising his duty. In addition, Mr Hawkins pleaded guilty to using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour towards Kim Dopson, Wayne Smith, Oliver Smith and Elijah Smith. Finally, he admitted carrying a knife in public. All the offences were committed in Thatcham on June 20 last year.

Courtesy Madcap Coffee As part of DTE Energy’s 2050 net zero commitment, DTE Gas announced that it will offer customers a new way to reduce their carbon footprint. The program, called CleanVision Natural Gas Balance, is the first in the nation to include both carbon offsets and renewable natural gas. The pilot program is approved by the Michigan Public Services Commission and was launched to the public in January. Dan Brudzynski, DTE vice president of gas sales and supply, said the utility has a goal of 50,000 participating customers over the next decade, which will be equivalent to offsetting approximately 1 million metric tons of carbon out of the environment.
