Cultural ambassador releases commissioned album
Yukon musician Matthew Lien has released his 21st album entitled The Romantic Route 3, commissioned by Taiwan’s Ministry of Hakka Affairs.

Musician s prized grand piano makes grand journey from Taiwan to Yukon CBC/Radio-Canada © Submitted by Matthew Lien Whitehorse musician Matthew Lien on stage with his Yamaha C7 grand piano. Lien is having the cherished instrument shipped from Taiwan to Yukon, to install in a new studio he s building.
Matthew Lien remembers the challenge of moving his new Yamaha C7 grand piano into his upper-floor studio in Taiwan a few years back. They had to use a crane, this crane truck, to fly it in the fourth-floor window, he recalled. It s been quite a journey already with that piano.
That piano is on a much bigger and more dramatic journey now it s currently on a cargo ship somewhere on the Pacific Ocean, and en route to Lien s home in Whitehorse.

What does Christmas mean
to you? Okay. I love Christmas! All the lights, smiles, and family. Every year I read the Bible story with my family. I enjoy awesome cookies that my grandmother makes, too! I help my grandfather put up the lights on the house. One of my favorites is presents. I love presents!! But, my one and all thing I love most is my family!! I would never spend Christmas without them! So, I guess to me Christmas means Jesus, joy, and family!!!
