Student develops support network for formerly incarcerated individuals in Klamath Falls Klamath Falls

As part of her senior project in Communication Studies at Oregon Tech, student Lauren Frost developed Starting Over Services (SOS), an advocate service for the formerly incarcerated, offering transportation, job-seeking assistance, connections to additional local services, and more.
Lauren originally became interested in this when she saw that without things like the large-scale mass transit large metropolitan cities have, formerly incarcerated residents in Klamath Falls encountered more difficulties in changing their lives. “Without proper transportation a formerly incarcerated person has a bigger percentage of a chance to miss Corrections appointments, shifts at work, drug tests, classes, and many other things that keep them compliant,” shared Lauren. “
KTOY During Pleasant Grove Independent School District’s regular board meeting on Tuesday, May 11, Superintendent Chad Pirtle announced the hiring of Matt Fry, Liberty-Eylau ISD Director of Communications, as their new Director of Operations.
Fry joined the Leopard Family in 2004 as a Teacher in various subjects such as journalism and graphic design. He moved into the Director of Communications role for the district in 2012.
“It is always hard when you lose an employee like Mr. Fry who has been a loyal, dedicated Leopard, but we also recognize that one must grow and expand in this profession. PGISD Snatches Principal & Educator From 2 Local School Districts

Superintendent Chad Pirtle announced the hiring of Carla Dupree, Texas High School Principal, as their new Assistant Superintendent beginning June 1.
According to the press release, Dupree joined the Tiger Family in 2017 as Assistant Principal of Curriculum & Instruction for Texas High and was named Principal in 2018.

Hilton and Shimao Group Holdings have signed an agreement to launch four luxury hotels in China: Waldorf Astoria Shenzhen, Conrad Shanghai, Conrad Wuhan and Conrad Zhuhai.
When they open, the hotels will mark the entry of Hilton’s luxury brands - Waldorf Astoria and Conrad - in the four cities, while Conrad Shanghai will take the spotlight as the largest Conrad hotel in Asia to open with more than 700 rooms.
The multi-deal signing signals optimism from both companies on the luxury tourism outlook in China and a commitment to extending their partnership which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year.
SINGAPORE, 6 May 2021: Hilton appointed Clarence Tan as
senior vice president, development Asia Pacific, effective 1 May.
With more than 20 years of experience, he joins Hilton from
the international hotel management and development company Valor Hospitality,
where he served as the principal and corporate advisor. Clarence Tan.
He also served as
Group CEO at Millennium & Copthorne and worked at IHG in several
senior leadership positions, including as chief operating officer for Japan,
Korea and Southeast Asia.
He will be based in Hilton’s Asia Pacific headquarters in
Singapore, reporting to both Hilton Asia Pacific president Alan Watts, and
chief financial officer and president global development, Kevin Jacobs.
