MeECL has also threatened to go for a total shutdown on Jan 22   |  12 Dec 2020 6:04 AM GMT Meghalaya: The employees of Meghalaya Energy Corporation Ltd (MeECL) has decided to hold a series of protests on December 15 against non-receipt of salaries. The Coordination Committee of Registered MeECL Employees Associations and Unions (CCORMAU) on Friday in a meeting in Shillong announced to launch the agitation programmes. Salaries of MeECL employees have been pending for the last two months. CCORMAU also plans to stage a hunger strike on December 16 and 17. The employees will suspend all maintenance works during office hours from 10 am to 4 pm on December 21.
