Socially-Distance Fitness: Finding Ways to Keep Your Kids Active
ST. CLOUD As we strive to keep up with our daily exercise routines, it s important to make sure your kids stay active too.
With the winter weather, home schooling and other limitations forcing us inside, our kids may have a harder time burning off that excess energy.
Scott Moody is the Youth Sports Coordinator at the St. Cloud Area Family YMCA. He says they offer a variety of programs that are fun and designed to keep kids moving.
Currently we have home-school gym, basketball and soccer programs, just trying to stay ahead of the game with all the COVID guidelines to make sure we can keep these kids active.

(KNSI) – The Central Minnesota Community Foundation has granted a total of $268,212 through its Central Minnesota Response and Recovery Fund.
Nearly 60 grants were awarded between April and December of last year.

ST. CLOUD It s been a revolving door when it comes to programming for group exercise classes.
State guidelines have presented several challenges to area fitness centers as they balance protecting the health of their members, while making sure everyone can stay active.
Cathy Elness is the Healthy Living Director for the St. Cloud Area Family YMCA. She says with the guidelines continuously changing, they ve had to make multiple adjustments.
We had to take all the guidelines and measure out each studio to accommodate social distancing, with the fitness center we had to move all the equipment and space it out so we could have enough pieces open.
