(KNSI) – St. Cloud is moving forward on moving city hall to the former Tech High School.
At Monday’s city council meeting, council members approved signing a letter of intent to sell the old city hall for development.
Mayor Dave Kleis says the letter of intent grants Frauenshuh Commercial Real Estate in Minneapolis the sole right to negotiate a development agreement.
“We should have the building sold right as we are moving out of it and then they can start construction. The building will be taken down and that’ll be a piece of property that will be on the tax roll and having some economic activity going on in that little part of downtown.”

(KNSI) – St. Cloud has proposed selling the soon-to-be-vacated city hall to a developer with plans to bulldoze the building and replace it with commercial office space.
St. Cloud City Hall is moving from the building on the corner of 2nd Street South (Division Street) and 4th Avenue South to the former Tech High School.
St. Cloud Mayor Dave Kleis told KNSI News the council received three proposals on Monday with two turning city hall into housing and one that would use the land for a commercial property.
“They agreed that commercial would make more sense. And so they took action at the regular meeting to bring that back at the next council meeting. So, we’ll have a letter of intent for development and acquisition of City Hall for commercial development.”
