Maureen Data Systems is securing the world of remote working
Senior cybersecurity consultant Jason Hribar shares how the firm ensures the security of remote working environments for its diverse customer base By Elly Yates-Roberts on 03 June 2021
The past year has been filled with changes. How has the Maureen Data Systems (MDS) technology strategy changed when assisting your clients?
Our customers come to us looking for more comprehensive solutions and they want them to be cost effective. They are not simply looking for point products but an entire suite of tools to help their users stay productive while continuing to meet their security requirements just as if their workforce were stationed in an office setting. For MDS, we have focused on providing guidance and implementations that do not just look at the individual technology but instead treat the solution holistically.
Cloud-based email threats capitalising on chaos of COVID-19 08 Mar 2021
Cloud-based email threats are capitalising on the chaos of COVID-19, according to Trend Micro.
The cloud security firm says it blocked 16.7 million high-risk email threats that slipped past webmail providers native filters, an increase of nearly a third on 2019 figures.
The new statistics are provided by Trend Micro s Cloud App Security (CAS), an API-based solution that provides second-layer protection for Microsoft Exchange Online, Gmail, and a host of other services. COVID-19 forced many organisations to accelerate their digital adoption plans, and SaaS apps have become indispensable to remote workers, says Tony Lee, head of consulting at Trend Micro Hong Kong and Macau.
