Saturday, the United States marked a milestone of vaccinating more than 100,000,000 people with their COVID shot.
While the weather was the perfect start to the historic day, hundreds of people went downtown to celebrate Cinco de Mayo in a safe and fun way. Personally, I ve been energized by the presence of the crowd. Feeding over their energy gives us the energy to play more music and keep the party hot, said Arthur Martin.

Keller brought a different mindset with him into Wednesday’s start.
“I could tell a couple of days ago, just listening to him talk about how he has been thinking about just making perfect pitches instead of we love the word attack,” Matheny said. “Attack the strike zone with what you do really well.”
“I couldn’t throw that hard with the mechanics I was working with in the first two starts,” he said. “Now with some of the adjustments we made it made it easier for the ball to come out cleaner. And when I could step on it, I could step on it and make an effective pitch instead of yanking one or sailing one.”
Some parents are facing an adjustment nearly as difficult as the challenges facing teachers and students.
With jobs and other responsibilities, they re adjusting schedules, with the kids at home. Parents like Jessica Segura of Las Cruces.
“My son was the only one of my little ones that were going to school. He was in kindergarten so that was definitely a learning curve and trying to figure out how to get things done via zoom and assignments and really keep him on track as best as I could and still work,” said Segura
Segura is not alone. Megan Garcia is a parent of two at Highland Elementary in Las Cruces. She says remote learning is challenging, but it s getting easier.
