TCR Australia debutant reflects on first round heading into second outing

Lachlan Mineeff is set to make his second TCR Australia series round start next month for his Purple Sector team after a solid debut round in the category back in March, the 18-year-old now shifting his focus to the tin-top category.
Having achieved a surprising ninth place in his first ever start at a rain-soaked Phillip Island, Mineeff took 13th and 12th in the remaining two races over the weekend but had to put his TCR ambitions on the sidelines to focus on the Bathurst 6 Hour, winning his class in a Toyota 86.

Chaz Mostert has taken a healthy lead of the TCR Australia series standings after a dominating Bathurst weekend with three wins from three races.
And the Melbourne Performance Centre driver is optimistic on doing the remaining rounds of the series alongside his Supercars Championship commitments.
“I’ve had a lot of fun this weekend. Hopefully we can do the rest of the year. It sounds good, so, pretty pumped for the next round,” said Mostert.
Mostert fought Garry Rogers Motorsport driver Aaron Cameron in all three races, with the Peugeot driver climbing to second place overall thanks to his three second place finishes.

Chaz Mostert’s TCR Australia championship lead has been extended even further after the Melbourne Performance Centre driver took his third win from three races at Mount Panorama.
Joining international star Néstor Girolami as the only driver in the category’s history to complete a clean sweep of a round, Mostert was able to notch up his fifth win of the year aboard the Audi RS 3 LMS after a late scrap for the lead in an incident shortened final race.
For the third straight race, Aaron Cameron was able to get the jump on pole-sitter Mostert off the line, leading into Hell Corner aboard the Garry Rogers Motorsport prepared Peugeot 308 TCR. Mostert was able to stick with the GRM car but had Cameron’s team-mate Jordan Cox in the #5 Alfa Romeo Giulietta TCR keeping him honest behind.
