A mate texted me this morning, alerting me to some figures that are more significant than they first seem.
They raced at both Sportsbet
Pakenham and
Warracknabeal was a flat-race program and Pakenham was exclusively jumps.
The anti-jumps people have had a few key gripes including animal welfare, cost to put it on – believed to be around $4 million a year – and that “no-one bets on it.”
Well, they did yesterday.
Admittedly Pakenham was a showcase of the very best jumping horses and Warracknabeal was a maiden and Benchmark 58 program relocated from washed-out
