City government facilities are returning to normal operations after more than a year of trying to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, and the Oak Ridge Public Library will return to normal operating hours on Tuesday, June 1.
However, not all Oak Ridge municipal departments and services have returned to full capacity, a press release said.

After more than a year of active efforts to suppress COVID-19, city of Oak Ridge facilities are returning to normal operations. A review of all city departments and services has been conducted and although not at full capability, the following is a summary of various services, a city news release issued last Friday stated.

USRowing Southeast Youth Championships will be held Saturday and Sunday at Melton Lake Park in Oak Ridge.
More than 400 entries will be racing in the qualifying event for the Youth National Regatta for youth and teenaged rowers, a press release said. Trophies will include:
The Spooner Cup Presented to the champion crew the Men’s Youth Champion Eight (M1V8+) category. Sponsor: Oak Ridge Rowing Association. Named for Steve Spooner, founding coach of the Oak Ridge Junior Men’s program.
The Absher Cup Presented to the champion crew the Women’s Youth Champion Eight (W1V8+) category. Sponsor: Oak Ridge Rowing Association. Named for Lorena Absher, founding coach of the Oak Ridge Junior Women’s program.
More city buildings open; but wear masks

The city of Oak Ridge is opening various departments, but still taking some measures to ensure COVID-19 safety.
“After more than a year of active efforts to suppress COVID-19, I am announcing the effort to open for business. A review of all city departments and services has been conducted and although not at full capability, the following is a summary of various services,” City Manager Mark Watson stated in a news release.
Departmental services are continuing. City officials strongly urge citizens to conduct their business electronically, over the phone, and by mail whenever possible. City facilities will continue operations as below. For the safety of city employees and social distancing for customers, visitors may receive a temperature scan and inquiry about their current health.
