HARRISBURG, Pa. Pennsylvania has no plans to slow down COVID-19 vaccine distribution efforts, despite Wednesday’s anticipated snowfall. The storm is projected to be the biggest snow storm the state has seen in recent years and Governor Tom Wolf signed a Winter Weather Emergency Proclamation for much of the state, including all of South Central Pa.
The storm comes during the first week of COVID-19 vaccine distributions. As of Tuesday afternoon, a total of nine hospitals have received their shipments of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine. He added, That task is particularly crucial this week and this year because this week the first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine are being distributed throughout the Commonwealth that s happening as we speak. Involved in the emergency planning are the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency, Pennsylvania State Police, Department of Transportation and PA Turnpike Commission.
The easiest way to ensure things run smoothly, Wolf said, is to stay home. If residents avoid traveling, it will keep the roads clear for emergency responders and personnel distributing the COVID-19 vaccine, state officials said.
