China is the world’s largest greenhouse gas producer.

In September 2020 at the United Nations, and again at the recent Leaders Summit on Climate convened by U.S. President Joe Biden, Chinese President Xi Jinping committed China to aiming to have carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions peak before 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality before 2060.
