Politics is all about power. Yeah, that’s a little cliché, but it’s also the easiest way to explain what’s happened in the Monroe County Legislature over the past year or so. Since Democratic County Executive Adam Bello took office in January 2020, two different power struggles have been playing out in the Legislature, where Republicans hold a one-seat majority over Democrats. Rifts in the local Democratic Party over the selection of an elections commissioner and other matters led four Democratic legislators to break away from their colleagues and form the Black and Asian Democratic Caucus.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) Three community groups are joining forces to call for an end to crime and violence in the North Clinton Avenue neighborhood of Rochester.
The North Clinton Avenue Business Association, Friends of Saint Michael s Church, and Hope Dealers are coming together to raise awareness of the steady increase in drug abuse and crime that the neighborhood has seen over the last several years. We have a very serious concern for our merchants as well as our neighborhood, said business association President Albert Algarin. If we don t get together and start doing something as a team, this can get worse.
