MERRILL The community of Merrill will be buzzing with activities as it will celebrate Merrill Daze Saturday and Sunday, July 24 and 25.
Most of the activities will be on Saturday, said Merrill resident Steve Hemmelman.
There will be a craft fair/shopping spree at Kissinger Community Center, lower level.
At 10 a.m., an Arena Fun Day will begin at the horse arena sponsored by the Merrill Saddle Club.
At 11 a.m., were having a kids bicycle parade, Hemmelman said.
The parade starts at Second and Calhoun Streets and ends up at Fifth and Main.
CURTISS – Deputies found a pilot dead Wednesday after a plane crash in Clark County.
Deputies were called around 11 a.m. to Curtiss for a missing small aircraft and pilot, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff’s office officials said the pilot left Curtiss around 4:30 a.m. Wednesday going to New Richmond, but the plane never arrived.
The sheriff’s office asked landowners to check their properties for the missing aircraft and pilot, which led to deputies finding the plane. Sheriff’s office officials said the pilot was the only occupant of the plane, and they were found dead at the scene.
