Trailblazers: BikePark Wales Delivering consistently brilliant trails since 2013, with the mod cons we love (decent food, bike wash and most importantly a dedicated uplift) BikePark Wales was always going to be a massive hit… with hindsight. But a decade back it didn’t quite look like that, the idea of paying to ride trails seemed laughable. Merida Ninety-Six RC 9000 first ride review

Merida Ninety-Six RC 9000 frame and suspension details As with most cross-country race bikes, the Ninety-Six RC provides 100mm of travel for both front and rear wheels, connected by a carbon frame. Continuing the trends that have been seen across the board, the rear chainstay (or seatstay) pivot has been eschewed in favour of flexible stays that have enough flexibility built in to account for the flex needed as the suspension moves through its travel. This saves weight and reduces areas requiring maintenance. The main pivot sits just above the chainring, and incorporates a small chainguide for added security. The shock is driven by a carbon rocker-link, which swings from the top- and seat-tube junction.

Merida Ninety-Six 8000 review

Merida Ninety-Six 8000 review 0shares Merida Ninety-Six XC full-suspension range gets a fresh look and a down-country makeover. Available in two versions: 100mm RC and a 120mm down-country bike. Product Overview Cons: £6,200.00 The Merida Ninety-Six has been a stalwart of the XC and marathon race scene for many years now. It was the whip of choice for XC legends Gunn-Rita Dahle Flesjå and José Hermida on the gnarlier tracks of the World Cup circuit, as well as hugely popular among privateer racers in countries like Hermida’s native Spain. For 2020 it had a timely revamp, as the old model was getting long in the tooth and hamstrung by outdated geometry, a clumsy remote lockout and an antique front derailleur mount (remember them).
