Chief Justice Qaiser Rashid Khan ruled that since the petition didn’t agitate any good ground for the case transfer, it stood dismissed for ‘being without any substance’.

APP/File PESHAWAR: A single-member Peshawar High Court bench on Monday summoned former woman MPA Meraj Humayun Khan for responding to a petition of Prime Minister Imran Khan seeking the consolidation of two pending defamation suits filed against him by her and another former woman MPA, Fauzia Bibi. Chief Justice Qaiser Rashid Khan fixed Feb 22 for the next hearing into the petition wherein the premier minister also requested the court to transfer Ms Fauzia’s lawsuit from a Peshawar court to a Swabi court, which is hearing Ms Meraj’s case.

Top Story February 10, 2021 PESHAWAR: Taking notice of a video clip showing certain PTI lawmakers receiving wads of banknotes and stuffing them into bags during the March 2018 Senate election, Prime Minister Imran Khan removed Sultan Mohammad Khan as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs. Sultan Mohammad Khan, hailing from Charsadda district, was later asked to submit his resignation. He penned down his resignation on a piece of paper, which Chief Minister Mahmood Khan promptly accepted. In his resignation, the law minister said it was his moral duty and obligation after the surfacing of the video in which his name was mentioned to offer his resignation. Describing himself as a committed team member of Chief Minister Mahmood Khan s cabinet and follower of Prime Minister Imran Khan, he remarked it was an honour and privilege to serve in the cabinet.
