Hoye speaks at the 2021 Learn Virtual Workshop

Boise State News March 1, 2021 Amber Hoye, director of the World Languages Resource Center, recently participated in the 2021 Learn Virtual Workshop as an invited speaker for “A Panel Discussion of COVID-19’s Impact on Language and Area Studies Curriculum Development: A Case Study from the Fulbright-Hays Group Project Abroad at Boise State University.” Hoye explained her role as instructional facilitator for Boise State’s Fulbright-Hays Group Project Abroad (GPA) and reflected on how the pandemic impacts how she designs training sessions and prepares to work with the group while overseas. Panel participants also included Boise State GPA program participants, Adam Li, and Pei-Lin Yu, who reflected on how COVID-19 impacts pedagogical methods and how their project designs have evolved in light of the massive shift in the educational landscape. PETALING JAYA: Youth-led organisation Monsters Among Us: Youth Advocates (MAU) has come up with a month-long campaign called “Sailing Safely with MAU” in conjunction with Safer Internet Day (SID) which is celebrated on Feb 9 every year. “MAU will be running four programmes for SID namely ‘A Dialogue with Advocates’ on Instagram Live, Virtual Workshop on Online Safety for teenagers, Virtual Forum on Malaysia’s standing on online child protection and a Live Prototype Testing of Lapor Predator,” they said in a statement today. MAU added that the main aim of this campaign is to launch Malaysia’s first automated chatbot that is used to retrieve reports on online child sexual exploitation and abuse.
