The Tampa Bay Rays top minor-league affiliate, the Durham Bulls, are off to a spectacular start in their season. They nearly pulled off the almost unheard-of feat of sweeping a six-game series on the road, taking the first five games from the Memphis Redbirds before dropping Sunday’s finale 7-6 in 10 innings.
Kyle Glaser of Baseball America named the Bulls Opening Day roster the most talented in the minor leagues (subscription required to view), and a number of players on the roster have seen the big leagues at some point already, but here are five players Rays fans should be excited for if they make their Major League debut in 2021.

Happy Cinco de Mayo from Memphis where the weather has moved out leaving a cooler but beautifully sunny day in the Bluff City today.
During her confirmation hearings Tuesday, Davis faced questions about the potential time limit on her tenure. Memphis Mayor Jim Strickland, who appointed Davis, is term-limited and will leave the office at the end of 2023.
The new police chief said she hoped the initial 2½ years of her tenure would be so successful that the next mayor would feel a need to keep her on the job.
Her first day as Memphis chief will be June 14. She will make $230,037.60, the same as her predecessor Mike Rallings.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Some favorite Memphis summer activities are back.
Organizers are trying to stay on top of the constantly changing COVID-19 mandates and recommendations to provide a safe and fun time.
The summer season, though still seven weeks away, starts to get back to some sort of normal on Tuesday as the Memphis Redbirds are finally back in action after almost 600 days in the Bluff City.
