MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - For the first time in almost two years, baseball is returning to AutoZone Park. Opening Day for the Memphis Redbirds is Tuesday night against the Durham Bulls.
They are the Tampa Bay Ray’s triple-A affiliate.
It’s the first time many players on the roster will play in a meaningful game in almost 600 days. With no minor league season last year, they were left with either playing with nonaffiliated clubs, or not at all.

Hog Wild – Real Memphis Barbecue and its sister company, A Moveable Feast Catering, launched a home delivery service last spring when every event on their books canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Customers could receive many of the catering company’s most popular items delivered straight to their front door. The offerings ranged from house-smoked meats sold by the pound to slabs of ribs to casseroles. For holidays like Father’s Day and Fourth of July, take-and-bake meals that included instructional videos were offered.

In what had been a lackluster start to his career, Adolis García came into 2021 with an .087 / .125 / .130 triple slash line (.AVG / .OBP / .SLG). In a minuscule 24 plate appearance sample, he was arguably the worst player in MLB. I’m not sure he could have punished the baseball if the catcher had told him the exact location and type of pitch that was headed his way.

Clearly, García could not catch up to fastballs. Jesús Luzardo’s 96mph fastball comes in slightly elevated into the middle-middle space of the strike zone, and García proceeds to whiff through it.
