MEMPHIS, Tenn. It s been a long time since a parade hit the streets of Beale Street. That all changes come this Saturday for an encore of St. Patrick s Day celebrations.
On Saturday, the 47th Silky Sullivan St. Patrick s Parade is set to make its return after being canceled in 2020 and postponed in 2021.
“Beale Street is back, Joellyn Sullivan, owner of Silky O Sullivans, said. One of the things that is so exciting about the parade this weekend is the fact that a year ago, a little over a year ago, the pandemic began with the cancelation of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade.”

As one of only three jockeys to win multiple stakes races, Evin A. Roman was named Jockey of the Week for April 19 through April 25. The award, which is voted on by a panel of racing experts, is for jockeys who are members of the Jockeys Guild, the organization which represents more than 950 active riders in the United States as well as retired and permanently disabled jockeys.
Riding regularly at Golden Gate Fields, Roman had mounts in seven of the eight stakes races during Gold Rush Weekend.

A lengthy list of Southern California trainers sends horses to compete in stakes races throughout the weekend. Golden Gate Fields racing officials announced the bayside racecourse in Albany, Calif.,will guarantee the Late Pick 4 pools on Gold Rush Weekend Saturday, April 24, and Sunday, April 25, at $200,000. The Late Pick 4 sequence consists of the last four races every day and is a 50-cent minimum bet. Gold Rush Weekend, a two-day festival, features eight stakes races; a half dozen on Saturday and two more on Sunday.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - The #1 tourist destination in Tennessee wants to welcome people back with a parade.
The Beale Street Merchants Association announced the 47th annual Silky Sullivan St. Patrickâs Parade will take place on the iconic Memphis street in May.
Usually, the St. Patrickâs Day Parade on Beale Street takes place in March and itâs usually a huge event.
But because of COVID-19, the 2020 and 2021 parades were canceled.
Several weeks ago, club and restaurant owners had an idea.
