Resident Evil: Village launched to rapturous applause last Friday, but even if you played the game you might not have recognise Capcom’s latest high budget marketing stunt. Rather than going the simple route to celebrate the game, Capcom chose to rent out a segment of an English countryside and adorn it with a giant, 100 metre long lycan complete with terrifyingly long teeth and a shaggy mane.

Resident Evil: Village or Capcom branding, meaning English locals were confronted by the appearance of a giant chalk wolf overnight with no context for its appearance. Early reports speculated about the figure’s origin and compared it to traditional chalk figures found nearby.
NEW ROLE: Mariella Frostrup is the new president of CPRE Somerset A CAMPAIGN group working to protect the Somerset countryside has unveiled a new celebrity president. Journalist and broadcaster Mariella Frostrup, who lives in the county, has been unveiled as the new president of CPRE Somerset (Campaign to Protect Rural England, Somerset). She succeeds Roger Martin. Mariella grew up in the countryside and moved to Somerset over a decade ago. She is now a permanent resident, often broadcasting her afternoon Times Radio show from her home just south of the Mendip Hills. And she said she is keen to champion the work of the countryside charity which works with rural communities to protect, enhance and celebrate the Somerset countryside.
