Road closure impacts entrance to Muskegon State Park for early summer

MUSKEGON COUNTY, MI – Access to Muskegon State Park from the east will be blocked for the first part of this summer due to the closure of a portion of Memorial Drive.
Beginning Monday, April 26, Memorial Drive will be closed from Weber Road to west of Peterson Road for water main work, according to Steve Fink, public works engineer for Muskegon County.
Traffic headed to Muskegon State Park on Memorial will be detoured via Weber to Fenner Road and then west to Scenic Drive.

MUSKEGON, MI – A former industrial site on Muskegon Lake could be transformed under a 10-year plan from a local developer.
Ryan Leestma of Adelaide Pointe envisions building a marina, condos, a restaurant and retail space on more than 30 acres of waterfront property at 1204 and 1148 W. Western Avenue.
“I hope to see that entire area as a busy maritime community,” Leestma said.

Muskegon Lake restoration to continue this spring

MUSKEGON, Mich. After designing, planning and restoring areas of the Muskegon Lake shoreline, the Muskegon Lake Nature Preserve Fish and Wildlife Habitat Restoration Project is preparing for revegetation this spring.
The project wrapped up construction on the shoreline last winter after placing topsoil and removing debris, concrete and iron from the preserve. Seed and erosion blankets were also installed to help stabilize the work areas and prevent erosion.
