Have your say on A595 Bothel improvement plan
A consultation, launched by Cumbria County Council last month, ends on May 24.
The authority wants to hear people’s views ahead of submitting a planning application this summer.
The consultation includes all proposed improvements under the A595 Bothel Strategic Improvement scheme, which extends over 5km from Cock Bridge to the Threapland Junction.
An online survey is available here and will be open until the consultation ends on Monday 24 May.

Fifth graders tell the Bidens virtual learning allowed them to eat and sneak in a nap
Students at a Virginia fifth grade classroom told President Biden and First Lady Jill Biden Monday that virtual learning gave them the chance to eat, take naps, and even fake technical glitches in order to avoid answering questions.
The school, Yorktown Elementary School, is now open four days per week, with students attending Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Students don t come to class Wednesday so the school can be cleaned.
One said, if we were really tired, we could like take a little nap. Another said, sometimes when Ms. B was like paying attention to something else you could eat and it was fun. Yet another student added that, If you don t know the question, you can just pretend like your mic doesn t work.

The Bidens stopped by an elementary school yesterday to pitch his $4 trillion federal spending proposals. In the course of brief visit, the Bidens got an earful about the failures of virtual learning from a classroom of fifth graders.
After the kindly president revealed that his wife still teaches full time, he inquired as to what the kids, who are now back to school on a part-time, masked basis, think about virtual learning.
‘[Virtual learning] was a little difficult with all the glitches,’ one girl said. ‘I definitely prefer it this way though.’
One boy chimed in: ‘I didn’t like virtual. It was terrible.’

During a tour of a reopened Virginia elementary school, children gave President Biden and the first lady very honest assessments about the pros and cons of virtual learning.
Telling the kids that the first lady teaches full time, Biden then asked how they liked remote learning.
“It was terrible,” one boy told the Bidens, while another said the glitches made it difficult at times but she “definitely” preferred it this way.
Other students noted that while their teacher wasn’t paying attention they could sneak in some snacks.
“If we were really tired we could take a little nap,” another said.
