Organic move for new store in Watertown mall

WATERTOWN — Seth M. Hill already feels at home in his new tea and herbs store he opened Wednesday at the Salmon Run Mall. For four years, Mr. Hill operated the Tarot Cafe in the Franklin Building on Public Square. After the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic began last year, he changed the direction of the business last June — from a cafe offering teas and coffees to an apothecary selling teas and a variety of remedies. Now he’s left the square and opened The Magick Apothecary in the former Gertrude Hawk Chocolates location in the mall. “I couldn’t be happier,” he said. “It’s been a dream of mine.”

HA: Thank you so much for taking the time to chat with us, Katie! Tell us, how did your herbalism journey begin? Learning about herbs through the Herbal Academy has drastically enhanced my knowledge of how to use herbs with my clients to create balance in the nervous system as well as the skin.

The sustainability rules for other seasons apply just as much, if not more, to winter foraging, and we encourage you to leave as much as you can for our wild friends! It’s also just as important to have a firm grasp on what you’re harvesting only harvest when you can confidently identify or have someone with you who can! Finally, always forage far from roadsides or areas that have used chemical treatments. Find m
