TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) â The Capital City Chamber of Commerce will celebrate diversity, inclusion, and resilience throughout the month of August as they highlight the impact Black-owned business has in Tallahassee.
Chamber President Katrina Tuggerson says local black businesses are seeing exponential growth despite the challenges of the pandemic.
Of the roughly 170 businesses they work with, as many as half are minority-owned.

On May 20 at 10:30 a.m. the Capital City Chamber of Commerce will facilitate the opening ribbon cutting ceremony for Demp House, a sober living program that will provide transitional housing for individuals recovering from addictions.
Demp House will host up to eight men in a structured living environment with access to counseling, career services and more through Anchor Recovery Foundation a faith-based, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization formed on Aug. 3, 2018.
The men’s home, located in Tallahassee’s North Side is part of a broader effort to support people in recovery with plans to open more throughout Florida over the next couple of years.

The Shuttered Venue Operators Grant is focusing solely on anyone who plays a role in bringing the performing arts to the stage. The money is solely to help artists rebound.
