Harrods Social by Jason Atherton, the large 114-seat restaurant (60 under current Covid restrictions) will be located on the lower ground floor of the department store and will serve British cuisine in a ‘relaxed yet elegant setting’. Atherton says he has designed the menu to reflect Harrods’ retail food offering by ‘showcasing the finest of British produce and seasonal ingredients’.
Chef Chet Sharma is to open his debut restaurant in Mayfair, backed by group JKS Restaurants.
Called Bibi, the 35-cover restaurant will be located on the corner of North Audley Street and Lees Place. It will feature a 13-cover kitchen counter overlooking a custom-built sigree charcoal grill and also have an outside terrace for a further 20 diners.
Translating in Urdu as ‘lady of the house’, a term used as a term of endearment for grandmothers across the Indian subcontinent, Bibi will draw inspiration from Sharma’s own grandmother with a menu influenced by India’s street carts and roadside cafés.

By The World of Fine Wine Team | October 29 2020
Gusbourne, the English sparkling wine producer, are delighted to be sponsoring the World of Fine Wine: World’s Best Wine Lists awards ceremony this year.
Neil Irvine, Head of UK Sales for Gusbourne, said,
“This year, it’s particularly exciting to be involved because it’s been such a challenging year for the hospitality industry. At Gusbourne, we work closely with some of world’s best restaurants, and we know first hand how hard everyone has been working to provide a fantastic experience for customers. It’s wonderful to have an excuse to celebrate them.”
Dinner by Heston Blumenthal s sumptuous terrace
Unless you were speed-dialling your favourite restaurants the second that the roadmap to recovery was announced in February, you may be thinking that an outside table in the UK is now rarer than an AstraZeneca-induced blood clot.
The River Café, for instance, is fully booked until June, as is Michelin-starred Hambleton Hall and its terrace overlooking Rutland Water.
Which is not to say that an alfresco table at one of Britain’s best restaurants isn’t out of the question this side of the summer solstice. There are Michelin-starred terraces reserved for walk-ins if you’re feeling spontaneous and while it’s worth planning now for the restaurants that have delayed their reopening until 17 May, many still have plenty of alfresco tables available. Some of the finest kitchens in the country, meanwhile, save the outside seating for their more casual spin-offs.

Such is the high power charging available, the chargers have to be liquid cooled from a main control unit.
Tom Fox, centre principal, said: “We are proud that Preston was chosen as the first Porsche Turbo Charger installation in the UK. Our new ultra high speed charging points offer a glimpse into the future of electric motoring here in the North West.
