ORLANDO, Fla. – Imagineering was never just a man’s club at Disney World.
Some of the most indelible and iconic images guests know from the Magic Kingdom and beyond were created by women.
For many decades, theme park and resort design was largely seen as a boy’s club.
This was never the case for Disney’s Imagineering.
Some extremely gifted female Imagineers were among the first generation recruited by Walt Disney.

From the earliest days Walt Disney World s Epcot was seen as a sort of permanent world s fair. The World Showcase area especially was designed to introduce different nations of the world to an American public that might never get to visit them. Enhancing that mission over the years have been a number of annual festivals held in the park that highlight specific aspects of those cultures. The International Food and Wine Festival is probably the most famous, but you should not sleep on the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival which began March 3 and runs through July 5.

When you have a place like Walt Disney World, each with dozens of attractions, most of them incredibly complex, stuff is going to break. It simply can t be helped. Attractions frequently go down for scheduled maintenance, which can often prevent unscheduled breakdowns. But either way you end up with an attraction that s either not fully operational or entirely shutdown. Such was the case with Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros. The boat ride attraction, fount in Epcot s Mexico Pavilion, has been down one caballero, as the Donald Duck animatronic broke down three weeks ago and had been MIA ever since. Well, Donald s back now, sort of. And it s a little hilarious.

We now have the full list of topiaries and gardens coming to the 2021 Taste of EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, EPCOT festivals have pared down their offerings, which unfortunately means there are no new topiaries this year. Thankfully, there are still plenty old favorites to see and one new prehistoric garden exhibit.
